Low Medium High
Code Meaning Severity Common Symptom
EC05 Refrigerator Cabinet Thermistor Fault High Food inside the 600 or 700 Series built-in feels warmer than expected; perishables begin to deteriorate ahead of schedule despite the setpoint being unchanged. View EC06 Refrigerator Evaporator Thermistor Fault High A progressively thickening layer of frost or ice forms on the inside back wall of the fresh-food compartment, indicating defrost cycles are failing. View EC07 Freezer Cabinet Thermistor Fault High Frozen foods in the BI-36U or BI-48S feel soft or partially thawed, and ice cream does not hold its shape at the set temperature. View EC08 Freezer Evaporator Thermistor Fault High A thick continuous layer of frost or ice appears on the back wall inside the freezer compartment, indicating defrost cycles are not completing correctly. View EC20 Defrost Underheat — No Voltage Feedback Medium A thickening layer of frost accumulates on the back wall of the fresh-food compartment because defrost cycles are not running. View EC24 Defrost Underheat — Heater Insufficient Medium Each defrost cycle clears only partial frost, so the ice layer slowly thickens over days until it restricts airflow from the evaporator. View EC40 Freezer Compressor Overrun High The compressor motor hum is continuous — on a built-in unit this is audible as a low drone from the bottom front of the appliance near the kickplate grille. View EC50 Refrigerator Compressor Overrun High The constant compressor hum is audible from the bottom of the built-in unit; the condenser area near the kickplate feels excessively warm. View
