Clean the condenser
Remove the bottom kickplate grille and use a vacuum with a brush attachment to clean dust and pet hair from the condenser coil and fan. This is the most common cause of EC40 on freestanding Sub-Zero models.
Sub-Zero recommends cleaning the condenser every 12 months — or every 6 months if you have pets.

Verify kickplate clearance
Confirm the kickplate / toe grille at the bottom front of the unit is unobstructed. Any decorative panel or custom toe kick blocking the grille must be removed or modified to allow airflow.
